But, let me tell you. Live. Terrifying. I saw Sufjan Stevens and the Illinoisemakers in London. It was a moral highwire act - it felt electric and courageous. This monstrous angelsong. Sufjan sung it with his head slightly cocked upwards and tilted, as if meeting the audience's gaze would be too much and he wouldn't be able to carry on. I think if the song was any longer, breathing would no longer be possible.
