Millions of Brazilians – Armenia
from Millions of Brazilians’ upcoming EP, to be released late 2008/early 2009
It is with great pride and pleasure that The Post-Rockist gives you a sneak preview and new track from Detroit’s Millions of Brazilians‘ upcoming EP, to be released in late 2008/early 2009. Produced by Daniel Johnson, formerly of Judah Johnson and currently working on an excellent new project called Lazrus, “Armenia” reveals that MoB has been working hard to translate their electrifying performances and innovative dance-rock sound in the studio, with impressive results.
Like everything else MoB has done so far, “Armenia” is immediately dancy, but this song is different from their others in that it builds a soundscape that covers all of the rhythmic underpinnings like a buzzing, humming electric blanket, and somehow the rhythm is still able to breathe, and vibrantly so. Millions of Brazilians have shown lots of promise and have put on some great shows this year, but this track–and the EP to come–reveal a band capable of creating impressive music in the studio that could take more than just Detroit by storm.
Millions of Brazilians play next on October 17 at the Nice Device EP release party, with Friendly Foes.
P.S. Be sure to check out Daniel Johnson’s music blog which, it pains to say, achieves far more often the kind of music writing that we at Post-Rockistville try to strive for. Check this post on Diana Ross and this one on Kanye as evidence.

If I had a nickel for every time I was hanging out with my male model friends, wearing nothing but our skivvies and shades, just trying to get some reading done, I’d be broke.
