In the Wheelhouse: A Podcast Worth Podcasting

In the Wheelhouse: Your New Favorite Podcast

Okay, so maybe this isn’t exactly music-related, but we here at Post-Rockist HQ have been a little frazzled as of late, and with the election coming to a headway it’s hard to stay focused on anything else. However, the newish podcast In the Wheelhouse is at least tangentially about music, in the sense that it is also tangentially about underappreciated films, addictive TV programs, unfortunate Halloween costume choices, random Carl Weathers quotes, sports trivia, and just about any other random bit of information that falls under the greater Pop Culture umbrella. In other words, if you’re the kind of guy (or gal) that’s into Randy Newman and the Detroit Pistons, this is the podcast for you.

Plus, one of the Wheelhouse show’s hosts is the all-too-infrequent Post-Rockist contributor Josh, whose post on Rod Stewart’s “Handbags and Gladrags” is still a popular destination according to our stats counter. Josh also runs the immensely entertaining Better Chatter blog, linked to in our sidebar. Co-host Brandon blogs over at Black Tee Shirt.

If you’ve ever pondered the ancient zen riddle “What is the sound of two bearded Brooklyn bloggers laughing at their own jokes?”, In the Wheelhouse is the answer. Go to www.wheelhouseshow.com to add the podcast to your RSS or just subscribe via iTunes. It’ll be fun!

(Oh, and I’m name dropped at least twice in the latest episode, which I think tangentially makes me a minor podcast celebrity. Right?)

It most certainly does make you a bit of a minor celebrity. Perhaps Geoff Emerick-level residual stardom?

I’m marginally embarrassed that I had to consult Wikipedia to get that joke. I should’ve known that!
