Normally I try not to be one of those bloggers who just regurgitates his spam box as a way of approximating personal taste, but this particular blast from, I think, “Grand Crew” caught my attention, and not just because it was HTML-embedded with obnoxious hypercolor neons and mostly written in an obscure European language I don’t speak. Apparently, Camera Obscura and St. Vincent played at some festival somewhere in France, which in itself is something I could care less about, but while there, these baroque pop songstresses recorded brief and totally affecting acoustic sessions out in a sunlit field, and they turned out exceptionally well. Also, this is where I casually remind you that both St. Vincent and Camera Obscura will be rolling through St. Louis later this year, and if you live in the area and read this blog, you should probably go.
