you make a good point here–it’s almost impossible to argue the force and nuance of your argument. my only retort is that if you can imagine she’s singing to/about any other unnamed, unknown person, i believe it’s her most powerful album and unbelievably catchy too. we’ve played it about a billion times and we can’t get tired of it.
